consequences

When I was about four years old, my parents ruined my life forever by bringing another baby into the mix.  I was a dream baby, never cried, never fussed.  It came as no surprise that my brother started wrecking shop the very minute he exited the womb.

Flash forward about five years.  Imagine yourself as eight year old Jen Baldinelli, taking a sweet Sunday afternoon nap on the couch.  Even as a youngin, I loved myself some naps.  Unbenounced to me, my hellion of a little brother was scheming as I lay dreaming.  He had some sort of blunt object in his hands and was waiting for the right moment to smack me on the back of the head with it.  As he neared me, his conscious kicked in.  He realized that if he hit me, he'd have a consequence.  And that consequence wouldn't be our momma taking away something he didn't like.  You know, angry momma's don't just throw away their children's broccoli eating privileges. Oh no, she'd take away something good.  He'd surely be without TV or games for at least a week.  He dropped his weapon of mass destruction and went off to find my mother, so that he could tell her all about his moment of clarity.

Consequences are always there.  You can't escape them.  And my consequence after this week's earlier post is that the boy thinks I'm what lifetime movies are made of.  He's convinced that one day he's going to come home from work to find me laughing and crying, bent over the toilet, flushing my birth control pills down the drain. But I know what the consequence of that crazy-like-adele-choice would be...I'd just be a preggo girl in a white wedding dress.  And who wants to look at that?  Yes, I want babies....at some point.  And I'm fine with just holding the ones that belong to my friends until we reach that point.  After all, I get to give them back at the end of the day....and still get my 8 hours of sleep each night.

Moving on....here's some of the best of the best from the interwebz this week.

1. I think I've found my wedding singer
2. Bueller? Bueller?
3. After TWELVE long years, Ben Folds Five is reunited
4. The spin offs continue: Ish Liz Lemon Says & Ish Girls Don't Say
5. Great, now I have to sneak a dino into my save the dates, too.
6. Men of the world, allow me to introduce you to Dress Pants Sweatpants.
7. I must now win the lottery so I can buy every single piece in JCrew's Spring 2012 Line.  Also, sequins are baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Jazz hands.

linkage lo-down

It's SATURDAY.  That means that you have nothing better to do with your 48 hours than wade through a haze of websites and reality tv shows.  Here's the best of the best from this week.

1. The fact that I'm a regular clumsy mumsy combined with my iphone is in my hand 24/7 is a recipe for disaster. So it comes as no surprise that this is my newest want.
2. Tebowie.  You know, the Jimmy Fallon created magical combination of Tebow and Bowie.
3. I'm a sucker for all wedding dances, especially the j.biebs ones.
4. Sad packers fan is sad.
5. I get it, sometimes you just really want some nuggets.
6. Teaser Trailer for this year's VW Super Bowl commercial.  And yes, it involves Star Wars.  Why mess with a good thing?
7. I can't get enough of the thought catalog: I'm breaking up with you Siri & Baby Name Fame Game.  Side note: I now want to name my first born Beetlejuice.
8.  Why bake with bacon when you can just frost with it?

linkage lo-down

I'm a blogging machine!  Since I'm on such a blogging roll, I decided to go ahead and knock out my linkage lo-down for the week.  I've scoured the web for only the most fascinating of links for the week...

1. The coolest iphone case I've ever seen.
2. Obsessed with instagram?  Me too.  Now you can take your instagrams and fancy them up into canvas prints.  With introductory prices starting at a mere 29.95, you better take advantage of this!
3.  The current high bid is just a mere 85,000.  Think I can add this bad boy to my wedding registry?
4. Outstanding tents.
5. I like television that rots my brain.  Especially when it's about New Jersey.  Season 5 of the J. Shore Trailer.
6. I hate you Tom Brady.
7. Finally, a rapper that spits truth about the real things in life.
8. Christmas-Ale.

linkage lo-down

Sorry for the belated linkage lo-down.  On the upside, I got a wedding dress.  If the TV shows "Jersey Shore" and "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" made sweet love and birthed a dress-it would be mine.  Haven't seen either show?  We should probably not ever be friends.

On another note, my brother read my blog.  After reading, he sent me a message that read "...girls love reading wedding blogs.  Woof!" And yes, that woof was in reference to Buzz's girlfriend.  I guess that means my blog is ugly.  I need to work on that.

1. How I will teach my future children what they can and can't touch.
2. It's the age old question.  Is Ryan Gosling Cuter than a Puppy?
3.  BA bridge
4. As much as I like to hate on it, SNL sometimes has it's magic moments.
5. Even infants know 90s rap is best
6. This is pretty much how my mother and I spent most of our Saturday afternoons.

linkage lo-down

It probably comes as no surprise when I tell you that I'm still trying to figure this whole blogging thing out.  However, I do know one thing for sure...this blog is gonna have to involve some themes.  I blame my deep-rooted love for themes on my mother, growing up our home was always decorated to the nines for each and every single holiday.  Said theme lovin' even carried me through college, where I lived with a girl who appreciated (and even encouraged) my love for fancy holiday decor.

But this blog can't really be dressed up like a house would be, there's no room for lights or yard snow globes on a web page. But-drum roll please-there can be theme days.  And I've decided that for the time being, Fridays are going to be linkage lo-down days where I share my weekly internet finds with y'all. I can't promise all my links will be gems, but they should at least make you crack a smile.

1. I told my kids I ate all their halloween candy.
2. For your dapper dog
3. Speaking of dogs, let me interrupt the lo-down for a second.  I've got a love for dogs, I would have all the pups in the world if the boy would let me.  In fact, I think that one day we will live on many an acre of land, just so a noah's arc-worthy plethora of canines can run free and frolic their days away.  I recently discovered this new breed and I think it's safe to say that I'm in love with a pomsky.
4. Nature, you be crazy.
5. Sorry for all the tangents today...but nature just got me thinking about my dear old friend Brian Fellows
6. Kindle, I love you.

linkage lo-down

I've always thought of myself as a funny person.  In fact, one of my dear friends from college recently told me that she had the most glorious dream in which I was the host of a comedy show.  Since what happens in a dream mostly definitely will occur in your real life, I've begun to envision myself as the Chelsea Handler of the 910...minus those scary man shoulders.  I mean, anytime the boy shares anything funny with his friends, chances are pretty good that I was the one who found it.  It's only fitting that I stop letting him steal my thunder and that I start sharing my linkage wealth with my fine readers.

1. old & busted: planking. new hotness: tebowing.
2. This blog , which is all about the fun & fancy items you can put in the mail.  True Story: I've mailed my boy one of those giant marbled play balls.  It was purple.  & I definitely wrote the lyrics to purple rain on it.
3. Reason #934722347 why I will be having children: To use them for my own amusement
4. My new fav tumblr
5. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better: the history of rap 3. Side note, can someone please convince JT to make another CD?  I'm ready for sexy to come back.  (again)

xoxo,
